Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Our motto “serviens in spe” means “serving in hope”, which is what being a Vincentian is all about.

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is an international organisation with its headquarters in Paris. The SSVP National Council of Singapore was formed in 1951 and there are conferences in almost every Catholic Church in Singapore now.

SSVP – CTK was formed in 1982 and we serve our Friends in Need (FINS) in Ang Mo Kio.

What we do

  • Home Visits: Our Vincentians regularly visit our FINS at their homes to check on their well-being.
  • Ration Day: Every 1st Saturday of the month at 11am, we serve lunch and distribute food rations and cash aid to our FINS in the CTK canteen. We also do home deliveries to our homebound FINS.
  • Second Collections during Weekend Mass: we collect donations from our fellow brothers and sisters in CTK on the 1st Saturday & Sunday of the month during Mass,
  • FINS Outings and Christmas Parties
  • Home Rosary at the homes of our FINS

When and where we meet:

  • Growing in Faith Together (GIFT) Sessions: we gather on every 1st Thursday of every month for our spiritual sessions at 8pm in Room 109.
  • Conference Meetings: we gather to discuss, plan, and share on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Thursdays of the month at 8pm in Room 109.

As Pope Francis said, “Take care of God’s creation. But above all, take care of people in need.”

Vincentians are all called to serve with love. We invite you to join us today and be part of the Vincentian family.
