Christ the king church Ang Mo Kio Malayalam Novena (MNG) was started on 14th October 1982.
Malayalam Charismatic prayer was organised after 12 years with the request of Malayali Catholic Community of Ang Mo Kio. Ever since, Christ the King Novena is recited every Friday after the evening mass. Praise and worship (charismatic prayer) is taken place every second Friday of the month after evening mass.
As the Malayali community is very small in Ang Mo Kio, the neighbouring Malayali Catholics participate in our prayers. Members visit hospitals, aged homes and people who are sick at home. We arrange prayers and attend funerals when any member of the community departs from us. We also extend financial assistance who are in need. We take active part in all parish activities and our representatives attend parish council meetings. We also help run the parish canteen occasionally. We organize picnics once a year.
- To build communion among the Malayalee Catholics in Ang Mo Kio and work towards a greater collaboration with the other ministries in the Church of Christ the King.
- To reach out and welcome the migrant workers from the State of Kerala in India, and pray as one community.
- Every Friday – Prayers in Malayalam in Room 109 at 7.00 pm
- Every 2nd Friday of the month – Praise & worship, praying for homebound and the sick especially those suffering from terminal sickness
