God gives each one of us a particular mission in life.
We are called to live our life as a witness to Christ who gave his life for us. It is through Baptism that the Christian is given rights within the church, such as receiving the sacraments, being nourished with the word of God and sustained by the other spiritual helps of the Church. However, Baptism is the source of responsibilities and duties, such as serving others in the communion of the Church.
Each of us has received a vocation to service and there are many ways in which we can realize that vocation through married life, single life, ordained ministry or religious life. As a baptized Catholic, you may also help young people develop openness to the possibility of priesthood, religious life, or other Church leadership. Their discernment process might begin with you!
Many young men have thought about the priesthood, but they are not sure where to start. If you know someone who might make a good priest, don’t be afraid to mention it to him. You never know how the seeds you sow may bear fruit in the future.
