Parish Mission 2013 – Update

Rekindling Our Faith”

The Parish Mission Core Team was formed in November 2011 to oversee the Mission.

                     Our parish census-taking exercise kick-started with an official launch and preaching
by Redemptorist priest Fr. Simon Tan, on August 11 & 12, 2012.
Volunteers were recruited and trained on the 26th of August 2012 to be census-takers.

          In mid-September 2012, the census-takers went door-to-door to conduct a detailed census
of parishioners who have registered. The data we have collected were checked,
collated and made ready  for the Mission proper.

             Regular meetings were held between the Parish Mission Core Team and the
Redemptorist Priests Fr. Philip Lai and Fr. Peter Wee.

Regular Meetings with Core Team and redemptorists         Meanwhile, preparations were made for the Home Visitations. Recruiting and training volunteers
as well as briefing of NCC heads took place at the end of June 2013.

The actual Home Visitations kick-started on the 19th of August 2013.

Every evening (Mondays to Thursdays), spiritual preparation sessions were held at 7.30 pm
at the basement Chapel.

 At 8.00 pm sharp, the Missioners accompanied by their respective drivers and guides leave the
Church of Christ the King to visit the families.  The visits generally end around 10.00 to 10.30 pm. Missioners Accompanied B

On their return from the home visits, the Missioners are greeted by the welcoming team

        Thereafter, Parish Mission Team gather in the parish hall for food and fellowship:

Families visited during the week were invited for a Eucharistic Celebration on
Friday evenings following their home visit.

After the Mass, the families were asked to gather for a Group Discussion Session with the Missioner
who had visited them.

The Friday evening Group Mass culminate with a celebration, where families gather

After the fellowship, the families adjourn to collect their Parish Mission 2013 photos
taken with their Missioner during the home visits.

Photos taken during the week were collated and a montage of the visits and activities  for each week were presented at the Novena Church every Saturday as well as during all weekend Masses in our parish.

The PARISH MISSION 2013 culminated in the Closing of the Year of Faith and the Feast of Christ the King on the  24th of November 2013.
